Simon Bayliss is an Architect and Urban Designer passionate about designing better homes and places to live. He is Managing Partner of HTA Design, an inter-disciplinary practice of architects and designers working to improve all forms of housing, which has been responsible for the design of some of the most innovative and influential housing developments of the past 20 years. Simon is a regular contributor to the debate on housing design, as both speaker and writer.
Simon became Managing Partner of HTA in 2016, continuing the growth of the practice’s reputation both as designers of great places, and as a great place to work, having been awarded Employer of the Year at the 2018 AJ100 Awards.
Speaking on day one of Explore Offsite Housing, Simon will explore the design and delivery of 101 George Street in Croydon, the world’s tallest modular building, which is due to complete on site in Spring 2020. Designed by HTA Design and built by Tide Construction and Vision Modular Systems the building provides a case study for harnessing the benefits of modular construction to deliver better places to live, faster and more sustainably.
